The company

Elite Security Group is able to provide a wide range of security related services, from manned guarding to mobile patrols and from keyholding with rapid alarm response to a security advisory service. Indeed, Elite Security has the expertise and flexibility to meet the needs of any discerning customer, whose specific requirements include a quality orientated security service.

Elite Security operates throughout the M4 corridor from London to Bristol, and while the Head Office and 24-hour Control Room are co-located in Newbury, a fully functional Regional Office in Swindon provides the necessary support to our many assignments in the west of the area.

Our professional security services are enjoyed by a wide range of customers; many with vastly different needs. By offering each customer a completely dedicated and tailor-made service, we can satisfy all of their individual, and specific, security requirements.

Over the years, experience has taught us that we need to fully understand and appreciate our customer’s needs, for the service that we offer to be fully effective.

This we achieve by forming a partnership with each of our customers and working closely with them from the onset, to compile a comprehensive security strategy which we believe will complement and assist their own core business.

Senior management team

The team of four security professionals, who form the backbone of Elite Security, has over one hundred years of security related experience between them. Much of this has been drawn from extended periods of service with the Police and Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, as well as many years within the security industry itself.

This team is readily available to offer good sound advice, based on that experience, to assist our customers in the identification and resolving of any particular security related problem that they may encounter.

The senior management team is made up as follows:

Terry Provis - General Manager
Ian Hedges - Operations Manager
Paul West - Contracts Manager
Graham Bavin - Business Manager

Terry Provis - General Manager
Since 1986, at senior management level within the security industry, Terry has acquired a reputation for delivering a strong customer focused service, producing consistently high levels of contract retention. Having worked for both large and small security companies, Terry firmly believes that the smaller operations are better placed to provide the consistency of quality that is essential to keep both customers and staff satisfied.

Ian Hedges - Operations Manager
Ian has worked in various roles, and gained much experience within the security industry since 1991. These include Site Inspector, Control Room Operator, Duty Manager and Control Room Manager. He is also a qualified Assessor and Training Officer. Ian has accumulated a solid background in the operational requirements of the security industry and has, since then, gained several well-earned promotions.
Back to 'The management team'

Paul West - Contracts Manager
Paul, a former Police Officer, entered the security industry in 1997 and swiftly progressed to the position of Contracts Manager in a small, local security firm. Following the aquisition of that company by a large national organisation, Paul decided once again that he preferred to work for a smaller company, and joined Elite. He is now making a significant contribution to our operation, with his expertise and knowledge of the industry.
Back to 'The management team'

Graham Bavin – Business Manager
As a former Police Officer in the Norfolk Police, Graham later joined the United Nations as an International Police Officer serving in Bosnia, investigating human rights abuses. Upon his return to England in 2002, he entered corporate security management working in London and the South West. Having joined Elite Security Group as the company’s Business Manager, Graham is responsible for maintaining the company’s current client base and promoting the growth of future contracts.

Our security services

The aim of security is to protect people and property from the ever-present risks of fire, flood, theft, vandalism, terrorism and occasionally, industrial espionage.

Our security services fall into four main categories:

Manned guarding
Mobile patrols
Keyholding with rapid alarm response
Security advisory service

Manned guarding

Manned guarding is the provision of suitably trained, screened and attired Security Officers, who have been contracted to provide a physical security presence at an agreed customer's premises. This service is usually charged by an hourly rate.

Nowhere does Elite Security promote quality more so than with our individual Security Officers, for these are the people who will be working directly with our customers on a daily basis, and therefore, their performance is of paramount importance to our overall success.

To ensure that we deliver a service that is totally commensurate with our customers' manned guarding requirements, we adhere to rigorous selection, screening, and training procedures.

All potential Elite Security employees undergo an intense selection process which exceeds British Standards, and includes each candidate completing a searching application form, that has been specifically designed to be far more revealing than any self-initiated curriculum vitae could ever be. Screening is then carried out which includes a thorough investigation into the individual's background over the immediate, previous ten years, with written references from former employers being mandatory. This can of course, be extended to cover a twenty year period, should it be a prerequisite for the contract, or considered necessary to maintain the integrity of a particular assignment.

Every Security Officer employed by Elite Security is specifically selected to serve a particular customer, and therefore, each individual is tested to ensure that they have the correct aptitude for that position. Only then will they undergo the extensive training necessary to provide them with the relevant skills and knowledge to satisfactorily undertake the assignment.

Mobile patrols

When a customer feels it unnecessary to employ the permanent presence of a Security Officer, but simply wishes to ensure the ongoing integrity of their premises, they may request the provision of our mobile patrol service.

This entails an agreed number of recorded but random visits to their assignment, by a uniformed Mobile Supervisor in a suitably liveried patrol vehicle. During each visit, thorough security checks are carried out and anything untoward is reported and recorded.

For Health & Safety reasons, all Mobile Supervisors are in regular contact with our 24-hour Control Room, and to confirm their exact whereabouts at any specific time, all Elite Security patrol vehicles are fitted with satellite navigational systems which act as a tracker of their location.

Keyholding with rapid alarm response

Where certain customers rely totally on alarm systems for their silent hours security, they may require Elite Security to provide them with a keyholding service.

This involves the customer's unmarked keys, or other means of gaining access to their premises, being held in a suitable, secure, Elite Security Group location. Ideally, this should be no more than 20 minutes away.

In the event of an alarm activation, Elite Security will attend the premises as quickly as possible, to investigate the cause. Should it prove to be a false alarm, we will reset the system, secure the premises once again, and advise the customer of the situation on the morning of the next working day.

Should the alarm activation prove to be more sinister, the police and the customer's after hours contact will be notified immediately. We would then await the arrival of the customer's representative and the police, and offer whatever assistance may be necessary to both. Once again, we would remain in place until such time as the premises had been re-secured and the alarm reset. Full incident reports would be initiated and forwarded to the customer in due course.

Security advisory service

Based on our many years of security experience, the Elite Security Group senior management team are readily available to offer good, sound security advice to our customers, whenever it may be necessary, and often during monthly minuted meetings. This advisory service is currently free to all existing Elite Security Group customers.

Working with us

Retention
The Elite Security Group track record, in terms of both contract and staff retention is second to none within the industry and continues to be the envy of many of our larger, household-name, national competitors.

Indeed, although churn within the industry remains high, we continue to enjoy extremely low staff turnover. In a survey conducted recently, turnover within Elite Security was 52% lower than the majority of our peers, and 55% lower than all of the well known, national companies.

Client Culture
We firmly believe that this success is directly attributable to an unwavering pursuit of 'Client Culture' throughout the workforce. This methodology affords all members of staff identical courtesies and treatment from their own colleagues, as would be offered to paying customers.

Contact us
We are constantly seeking suitably qualified and motivated individuals with impeccable credentials to join our growing team of security professionals.
