Elite Security History started when the group was acquired by Mervyn Huntley in 1996 with just 5 staff on the books. It remains a privately owned Company with a proud history of growth of the intervening years, but originally it was all based from a small office in Newbury. Now with four Regional Offices, and with operations spanning many counties and geographic areas, Elite Security Group continues to grow and develop organically and through wider acquisitions.
Elite Security Group also remains financially independent; with no bank borrowings or overdrafts, no factoring or invoice discounting and no asset finance of any kind. We are proud that this financial security provides both a stable and positive business operation.
Below is a brief timeline history of the Company:
1996 – Mervyn Huntley acquires the Company, moves small office to a larger business park
1998 – Opens office in Swindon, first years registration with BSi to BS EN ISO 9001
2001 – Swindon office becomes Head Office moving some functions away from Newbury
2006 – SIA Approved Contractor status awarded
2009 – Opens office in Cardiff
2011 – Acquires Taurus Security in Twyford, Reading
2015 – Acquires Meridian Security in Bristol and opens Bristol office
2017 – Agrees move from BSi to CCAS for ISO Registration (effective 2018)
2021 – Opens office in Wokingham
2023 – Opens office in Gloucester
